The nickel restart strategy is centred on four key production hubs at Cassini, Durkin North, Ken/McMahon and Miitel/Burnett. Development studies are underway on each of these deposits to formulate a production schedule for the district.
The Company secured a new process and offtake solution with the signing an Offtake Term Sheet with BHP Nickel West in March 2019. For further information on this Offtake Term Sheet, click here.
Cassini (Widgiemooltha Dome)
First major high grade nickel sulphide discovery in the Kambalda region for many years
Maiden Mineral Resource: 550kt @ 3.4% Ni for 19kt of contained nickel
Significant resource upside on several fronts
High priority extensional drilling continues
Development studies well underway
High grade Mineral Resource: 427kt @ 5.2% Ni for 22kt of contained nickel
Ore Reserves: 710kt @ 2.5% Ni for 18kt of contained nickel
Feasibility Study being updated to reflect a revised mining approach aimed at improving the reserve grade
KEN/McMAHON (KAMBALDA DOME)
Mineral Resource: 234kt @ 3.7% Ni for 9kt of contained nickel
Potential for high grade reserves
Exploration Target: 500kt - 600kt at a grade between 3% and 4% Ni*
*The potential quantity and grade of the initial Exploration Target is conceptual in nature and there is insufficient information to estimate a Mineral Resource. It is uncertain that further exploration will result in the estimation of a Mineral Resource. For further details on Exploration Target and exploration results, please refer to ASX Release dated 6 November 2018 (click here).
Combined Mineral Resources: 832kt @ 3.3% Ni for 28kt of contained nickel
Combined Ore Reserves: 428kt @ 2.5% Ni for 10.5kt of contained nickel
Potential to delineate additional reserves between the orebodies and extend the resource to the north and south
DURKIN NICKEL OXIDE
Shallow high grade nickel oxide mineralisation confirmed in initial drilling
Potential oxide purchasers undertaking metallurgical test work
Exploration Target: 100kt - 200kt at a grade of 3-4% Ni*
More oxide material prospects in the pipeline
